Jharkhand Literary Meet has become an integral part of Jharkhand’s annual cultural calendar in the five years of its existence. This year, Jharkhand Literary Meet is back in Ranchi to celebrate its fifth edition.

Jharkhand Literary Meet was launched in 2017 by Gameplan because Jharkhand needed a festival that would celebrate its rich, diverse yet underrepresented literature and culture. The idea was to take Jharkhand to a wider world audience and also to bring the world to Jharkhand.

From the very first year, the lit meet has drawn premier authors and speakers from across India, having hosted eminent delegates such as Ruskin Bond, Uday Prakash, Mridula Garg, Harivansh Narayan Singh, Sharmila Tagore, Pankaj Kapur, Mark Tully, Jairam Ramesh, Devdutt Pattanaik, Mahadev Toppo, Anuj Lugun, Usha Uthup and Rekha Bhardwaj among several others. The overwhelming response to the lit meet encourages us keep our emphasis on a consistently high quality of participants, and an inherent connection with the local cultural ethos.
